PLAYING, EXPLORING, AND CREATING THROUGH DANCE AND MOVEMENT
In what ways do everyday activities give rise to dance? How can children explore and shape their environment through movement? This workshop for (pre-school) teachers focuses on artistic forms of play, exploration and creativity through dance and movement.
During the first part of the workshop, participants will explore how seemingly ordinary activities, such as putting on a jacket, rolling a marble or washing one's face, as well as everyday materials, can inspire a variety of dance movements. These situations will be put into practice and reflected upon as aesthetic spaces of experience, revealing their potential for early educational processes. The second part offers an introduction to the MVLY card set Discover Movement with Children, with practical work. Here, the focus is on ideas and examples of use with selected materials for participants' respective target groups.
