Matthias Quabbe
DANCE WRITING QUARTERLY
If the notes that emerge over the course of a project represent, so to speak, its essence, then it should be possible to extract from them a source code for a new text about the project. If fiction is the articulation of a possible future, present, or past, then it can serve as a gateway to an alternative perspective on the events. Together, these two elements will serve as the foundation in this issue of Dance Writing Quarterly for writing about one’s own projects, those one has witnessed, or those one has imagined.

Matthias Quabbe
In his work as a dramaturg (with Reut Shemesh, Rykena/Jüngst, Alexandra Waierstall, among others), Matthias Quabbe combines conceptual project development, production dramaturgy, and fundamental considerations of dramaturgical practice. He has developed a penchant for pushing factual contexts to their fictional limits.
