SEEING DANCE - UNDERSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHIE
How do we see dance and what do we recognize in a choreography? What remains visible and tangible? How can our memories be translated into our own movement in space? In this course, we approach dance and choreography from the perspective of the viewer. Together we will attend three performances of the TanzHochDrei Festival from March 27-28, 2026 Before attending the performances, we will learn methods of performance analysis and prepare ourselves together: How can we talk about dance? What decisions shape a choreography?
In the subsequent meetings, we will reflect on impressions, themes, and materials from the pieces we have seen. These will flow into our own movement and design experiments, which we will develop further in the space. On selected dates, K3 resident artists will also participate and provide insights into their artistic work processes, creating a direct exchange between the audience, artists, and participants. The course is aimed at anyone interested in dance—with or without previous dance experience—who wants to perceive and understand dance in a new way, become creative themselves, or teach dance in their own field.
In addition to the four course dates, we will attend three additional performances as part of the festival on March 27-28, 2026. The exact dates and times will be communicated to you at a later date. The course fee already includes the cost of tickets for the three performances. There are no additional costs.
