INTERPLAY
What happens when freestyle dance meets artificial intelligence? What remains of personal expression in the face of an algorithm? For the performance Interplay, four dancers have a chatbot write a choreography for them. Between live chats and freestyle a choreographic interaction is created that explores the boundaries between human and machine and raises issues such as authenticity, the art market, stereotypes and cultural appropriation.

Ashley, Marlen, Anam (Lukas) and Angela are producing their first piece together on Interplay. The collective is united by their love of dance and their involvement in Hamburg's hip hop scene.
Ashley Twumasi has already performed on the stages of Kampnagel in productions by director Mable Preach. She promotes young talent through dance classes and events and, like Angela and Marlen, is part of the To The Fullest crew, with whom they regularly take part in battles and organise community battles. Angela Katanga alias ATK is a versatile dancer who has been on stage with Peter Fox and Samy Deluxe. She is committed to working with children and young people in order to raise awareness of the culture of African dance. Anam Lubisia is part of the Educate 2 Recreate collective and founder of Rooted Dance Culture. As a young choreographer he has worked with Pete Ezedunor at the Staatstheater Kassel, with Saïdo Lehlouh at the Show Palast Munich and at Kampnagel.
