studied dance and choreography at HZT at University of Arts in Berlin. In her works she explores limits of physicality and focuses on creating her own dance language.
She was introduced to GYROTONIC® and elements of Gyrokinesis by Harumi Terayama in Berlin in 2018, during a dance production. All of her teachers are dancers connected to ballet and/or contemporary dance.
Her choreography Noish~ has been awarded Aerowaves20 in 2016. She is an author of many solo and collaborative projects. Her works were shown in Austria, Poland, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Russia and other places.
During the K3 residency Maria continued to follow her interest regarding the relations between sensing, inteligent body, Spacetime and movement. In her choreographic research she draws on quantum physics and broadly understood perception in movement. It explores the idea of dance as an elementary force creating and transforming places. Places are not static. They appear and disappear, open and close in accordance to the quality of actions they welcome. The notion of place as dance-based event is explored via movement research and a dialogue between music, light, space design and dance.
